Carnival Corp orders nine new ships
The world’s largest cruise company is about to get even bigger.
Carnival Corp has placed an order for nine new ships due for delivery between 2019 and 2022.
This is in addition to nine other ships already announced and under construction which are set for delivery by 2018.
The order will be split between Europe’s big two shipyards, Fincantieri in Italy and Germany’s Meyer Werft.
Carnival has not disclosed which of its nine brands – Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Cunard, Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises (UK) and P&O Cruises (Australia) – will receive the new ships.
“Our goal as a company is to exceed the expectations of every guest on every ship every day, and these new ships will further enable us to do just that,” said Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald.
“These will be the most efficient ships we have ever built.”
