Carnival launches first TV ad in the UK
Carnival Cruise Lines is running its first ever TV advertising campaign in the UK in a bid to increase its profile.
The ads, created by Karmarama and launching on Sunday, show British families and couples flicking a switch to be transported from mundane, everyday activities to the decks, bars and swimming pools of a Carnival cruise ship.
Narrated by comedian Peter Serafinowicz, they feature high-end special effects and stunts.
The cruise line said it hopes the ads will increase awareness of its brand in the UK, where it is not as well know as in the US.
Karmarama creative director Sam Walker said: "We wanted to do something that helped Carnival stand out from the usual cruise advertising conventions."
Carnival will operate two ships in Europe this year – Carnival Legend, sailing to Norway and the Baltics from Dover; and Carnival Sunshine sailing the Mediterranean this summer following a £100 million transformation.
