Carnival mask mandate includes New Zealand sailings
Carnival confirmed its reintroduced mask mandate for passengers includes all New Zealand cruises.
It brought back mandatory mask-wearing on cruises, which includes all sailings in Australian or New Zealand waters.
They were brought back ‘out of an abundance of caution’ as an additional safeguard.
Carnival requires masks to be worn in indoor public spaces, and when boarding and disembarking the ship
Masks are also required for outdoors events when social distancing is difficult.
Masks were previously scrapped for passengers in February.
Cases have surged in Australia in recent weeks.
The Majestic Princess cruise ship had about 800 guests positive for Covid-19 recently when it docked in Sydney.
