Carnival tweaks reward program after backlash
After a backlash from some of its most loyal cruisers, Carnival Cruise Line has made further adjustments to its upcoming new loyalty program.
The new Carnival Rewards goes live on June 1, 2026.
After reviewing feedback, Carnival will enable some cruisers to keep their current status for life.
Now, those with Diamond status by the end of May, 2026 will have lifetime Diamond status.
Additionally, guests with Platinum status will have this extended through May 31, 2028 and will get 10,000 Carnival Rewards qualifying stars bi-annually.
This enables them to reach at least Gold status for all subsequent cruises.
Carnival also giving children the same status as their parent or other adult on the booking.
“We’ve spent the summer talking with our guests, listening to their comments and taking in their feedback. As a result, we are making changes to improve the offering to our most loyal,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line:
“We believe these enhancements recognize our appreciation for the loyalty of our top tier guests.”
The new Carnival Rewards replaces the current VIFP program next year.
