Carrick invests in family travel business
Travel industry stalwart and former CEO of Hoseasons Richard Carrick has joined Tots To Travel as an investor and non-executive director.
Carrick has held previous general management and marketing roles, including at MyTravel, Saga Holidays and Forte Hotels and as the CEO of Hoseasons led a successful buy and sell with private equity backing in 2010.
He is also currently president of The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Travel Industry Group and a board trustee of People 1st, the government sector skills council for hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism in the UK.
Commenting on Carrick’s appointment, Wendy Shand, founder and owner of the pre-school holidays specialist Tots to Travel, said: "We are delighted to welcome Richard as our new non-executive director as he brings invaluable management experience and skill in the holidays and travel market and will be a tremendous asset to our board.
"Since we launched in 2006, Tots to Travel has seen seven years of consecutive financial growth and Richard’s in-depth understanding of the industry will help us to drive our ambition to deliver a further 20% growth this year and provide a strong platform for the future."
Carrick added: "Wendy and (CEO) Rob Shand are an impressive team who have already achieved significant growth and built great foundations for a very successful long-term business.
"Tots To Travel is now at a pivotal growth stage and I am looking forward to working with the company to support the brand and provide strategic options for Wendy and Rob to accelerate their ambitious aspirations and fulfil the enormous potential I believe the business has in the travel market."
