CDC issues updated guidance for cruise lines’ return to service
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an update on technical guidance for the cruise industry. It outlined the next phase for cruise lines to be able to restart operations at US ports.
To meet the conditional sail order, lines will have to implement routine testing of crew, and set up vaccination strategies to reduce the risk of a spread of Covid-19 by crew and passengers. Cruise lines must report daily any cases of Covid.
When cruise lines satisfy the CDC on these steps, ships will move on to the next phase with test cruises before getting the green light to resume sailing.
