Celebrity announces name of next Edge-Class ship

Celebrity Cruises has reveled the name of its upcoming fifth Edge-series ship.

It will be named Celebrity Xcel.

The new cruise ship is under construction and dur to launch in 2025.

“The Edge Series has shattered preconceived notions of cruising. I am thrilled to announce our next bold step as a brand with Celebrity Xcel,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity.

The ship will offer upgraded services and amenities compared to other Edge ships, but the line is yet to share details.

Accommodations will include two-story villas with private plunge pools, a larger Rooftop Garden and the Retreat exclusive resort area.

Celebrity Xcel will debut in late 2025 on Caribbean cruises with a winter season out of Fort Lauderdale.

It will sail seven-night alternating Caribbean cruises to the Bahamas, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands, and Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.
