Celebrity Cruises orders fifth Edge-class ship
Celebrity Cruises has ordered a fifth Edge-class ship for delivery in autumn 2024.
Celebrity’s first 2,918-passenger Celebrity Edge was delivered in 2018.
Parent company, Royal Caribbean Cruises, has already ordered three other Edge-class ships, due to be delivered in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The newest Edge order is contingent upon financing, said a statement.
"Edge class made an immediate hit with Celebrity Cruises guests and is a state-of-the-art example of technical excellence and elegant design. We can’t wait to build the next one,” said Royal Caribbean Cruises chairman and chief executive Richard Fain.
