Celebrity outlines winter 2011-12 Caribbean schedule

An extensive range of Caribbean sailings have been unveiled by Celebrity Cruises for winter 2011-12 including the deployment of four Solstice-class ships.

The announcement comes as the company showcases Celebrity Eclipse, the third in the series of Solstice class vessels, to the travel trade in Southampton this weekend prior to its first summer season of cruises from the UK.

The 2,852-passenger vessel is due back in Southampton this evening with more than 2,000 holidaymakers left stranded in Spain due to the volcanic ash crisis.

Celebrity’s Caribbean winter 2011-12 season will see eight ships in the Caribbean running cruises from four different US ports and Puerto Rico on itineraries ranging from between four and 14 nights.

The move follows the line confirming that all four Solstice-class ships will sail in Europe in summer 2011.

Celebrity Silhouette, to be launched next year, will sail from Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey between November 2011 and April 2012 on 12-night alternating Southern and Eastern Caribbean voyages.

Sister Solstice-class ship Celebrity Equinox will run 15 alternating 10- and 11-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale in Florida.

Celebrity Solstice will return to offer seven-night Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

Celebrity Eclipse will offer seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami.

Celebrity Constellation, which is to undergo the brand’s first "Solsticizing" refit to include many Solstice-class elements, will operate 14-night Southern Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.

Celebrity Century is to sail from Baltimore on a season of 12-night Eastern Caribbean sailings.
Seven-night voyages from San Juan in Puerto Rico will be run by Celebrity Summit. Early in the 2011-12 winter season, Celebrity Summit will join other Millennium-class ships in being "Solsticized."

Celebrity Millennium will offer a total of 41 short four- and five-night sailings from Miami with four itineraries visiting a total of six ports.

Celebrity Infinity will sail on 13-, 14- and 15-night cruises between Valparaiso and Buenos Aires between December and February.

Celebrity Infinity will also offer a range of Panama Canal voyages lengthened from 14 to 15 nights to include the new port of Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala and a full-day in Colon, Panama.

The line will continue to run year-round Galapagos Islands voyages on 92-passenger mega-yacht Celebrity Xpedition.
