Celebrity to deploy new small ship in Europe in 2008
Celebrity Cruises is to deploy a new small ship in Europe next year together with four mainstream vessels.
The deployment comes in addition to sister brand Royal Caribbean International’s seven ships in Europe next year.
The 710-passenger Celebrity Quest will enable the line to offer 25 new ports in Europe with 14-night sailings from Rome (Civitavecchia).
Destinations across various itineraries include the Black Sea, Malta, Tunisia, Cyprus and Egypt.
The line’s president Dan Hanrahan said: “The upscale, smaller nature of Celebrity Quest allows us greater versatility in deployment so our itineraries feature destinations that are likely to be new discoveries for even the most experienced European travellers.”
The line will also be offering cruises on Celebrity Century, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Galaxy, and Celebrity Summit in Europe in summer 2008.
Celebrity Century will sail from Amsterdam and Barcelona; Celebrity Constellation will operate from Harwich with a nine-night Scotland and Ireland cruise before a series of 14-night Scandinavia and Russia cruises; Celebrity Galaxy will run 10- and 11-night sailings from Rome between May and December. Celebrity Summit opens its European season on April 29, 2008, with a 12-night “Best of Europe” cruise from Southampton before operating a series of 12-night Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Venice.
