Celebrity’s Bayley says Millennium will sail Sept. 22
Celebrity Millennium is heading back to the high seas–to both the Pacific and the Atlantic, via the Panama Canal.
In a conference call yesterday, Celebrity president Michael Bayley said the Millennium will sail from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale via the Canal on September 22, returning to service after being forced to cancel its Alaska season due to mechanical problems.
The ship is making its way from Alaska to dry dock in Grand Bahama, where a new 250-ton propulsion pod will be installed.
Bayley thanked the vast majority of customers for being "remarkably understanding" in a "complicated situation."
He said he is confident that everything will be finished and certified I time for the San Diego sailing, and customers will find the Millennium in better condition than ever.
