Centara Hotels signs three new Myanmar hotels
Thailand based Centara Hotels & Resorts is adding three hotels in Myanmar.
It signed management agreements with developer SL International Construction Co for Centra by Centara Hotel Thiri Hpa-An, Hpa-An Hilltop Resort & Spa, and Centara Hotel Mandalay.
It takes to nine the number of new management agreements announced by Centara for Myanmar hotels in the last 12 months.
Centra by Centara Hotel Thiri Hpa-An will open first next year with 77 rooms, as well as two F&B venues, a swimming pool, fitness centre, and meeting facilities.
The nearby Hpa-An Hilltop Resort & Spa will open a year later under the Centara Boutique Collection brand of upper upscale boutique properties.
"As we continue to expand into exciting destinations such as Myanmar, we look forward to showcasing our Thai hospitality and family values on a wider international stage," said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels and Resorts.
The 200-room Centara Hotel Mandalay is slated to open in 2024 as part of a mixed-use project which will also include a shopping mall, office units and a casino.
The group’s portfolio now consists of 81 properties with nearly half located outside of Thailand.
