Centara signs deal for six hotels in Myanmar
Thai hospitality group Centara has sealed a partnership deal with KMA Hotels Group to manage six hotels across Myanmar.
The two companies have signed a MOU which will see three existing KMA Hotels located in Inle, Naypyitaw, and Taungoo rebranded and refurbished and the development of another three new hotels.
All will operate under the upscale Centara and Centara Boutique Collection brands..
The new hotels are the Centara Bagan River View Resort & Spa, Kaytumadi Dynasty Bagan Resort, Centara Boutique Collection, and Shwe Than Daung Resort, Centara Boutique Collection.
"Our partnership with KMA Hotels represents a significant milestone for Centara. It gives us the opportunity to establish a significant presence for Centara in a country with huge potential for tourism development," said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Centara’s CEO.
Work on the project begins this year.
KMA Hotels is a subsidiary of privately held Kaung Myanmar Aung (KMA) Group of Companies.
"We are delighted that Centara will be bringing their management expertise and and strong brand to six of Myanmar’s most popular destinations," said U Kaung Htet Tun, managing director of KMA Group.
The six Myanmar hotels mark the progression of Centara’s expansion strategy which calls for doubling the number of properties under management by 2022.
