Chad Howard to be GM Blue Holidays.
Blue Holidays has announced the appointment of Chad Howard to the role of General Manager, Blue Holidays.
Blue Holidays is the holiday program of Virgin Blue, which is a new strategic venture between Virgin Blue and ZUJI, where ZUJI’s Travel Partner Network (TPN) division manages the Blue Holidays online booking website (www.blueholidays.com.au) and operations, and flights are provided by Virgin Blue and its international carriers Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue.
Prior to joining the Blue Holidays team, Chad was General Manager, Partnerships for ZUJI and was responsible for managing ZUJI’s new business partnership opportunities and relationships throughout the Asia Pacific Region, including the formation of Blue Holidays as announced in March this year.
He also worked in other roles for ZUJI during his five years with the organisation, including a USA-based appointment where he oversaw the integration of Travelocity technology into ZUJI during ZUJI’s start-up phase.
Before joining ZUJI, Chad held a variety of travel industry roles in Australia, New Zealand and the USA with Gullivers Pacific and Continental Airlines.
In his new role with Blue Holidays, he will work closely with the ZUJI and Travelocity teams to further develop the technology and hotel content on the Blue Holidays site. He will also liaise with the Virgin Blue team to incorporate Virgin Blue and its partner airlines’ flights into travel packages, which are booked dynamically online on the Blue Holidays website.
Chad Howard said, “I am excited about coming in to this new role, and am incredibly enthusiastic about building Blue Holidays into Australia’s number one holiday packages website. Aussie consumers have already embraced Blue Holidays’ first-to-market dynamic package booking system, and we have some very funky new features and domestic and international content due to roll out soon. I’m thrilled to be a part of this incredibly innovative business, and can’t wait to roll my sleeves up and get started.”
Based in Brisbane, Chad will begin his new role today, 1 August 2006.
