Cheapflights makes two UK appointments
Cheapflights.co.uk has recruited two executives to help sustain and accelerate the growth of its business.
Jagjivan Ram (known as Jag Ram) has joined as head of product development UK, reporting into COO Dave Owczarek in London.
He was most recently at Cendant Travel Distribution Services as senior technical products development manager EMEA, responsible for the product direction and development of core information management systems and managing international development teams.
Before that he was technical director at Lastminute.com and group IT director at leisure company Clubhaus.
“We are entering an exciting period for the company with a planned launch in Europe,” said Owczarek.
“As part of our commitment to innovate, we are developing a raft of new products to keep our sites relevant and useful to our users. Jag brings a wealth of experience in facilitating these goals.”
Meanwhile, Cheapflights has appointed Vicky McAllister as account manager.
McAllister joins from AOL UK where she headed up partner relations within the UK AOL travel channel.
She will work within the sales team, headed up by Rob Passmore, Cheapflights commercial director, working with key accounts mainly the commercial airlines.
The appointments come after Cheapflights announced the sale of its non-flights business, including the websites CheapHolidayDeals.co.uk and CheapAccommodation.com, to e-commerce company Internet Business Group for £1.1 million (see earlier story).
