Cheapflights move into short break market

Sunday, 30 Aug, 2005 0

Cheapflights.com has launched what it claims is the UK’s first price comparison site for short breaks.

The site, cheapshortbreaks.co.uk, will offer one-click access to more than 13,500 short breaks from 125 operators including Thomson Cities, Thomas Cook, Virgin Holidays, Crystal, Mark Warner, Saga and Leisure Direction.

Development of the site will be headed by former P&O Stena Line national sales manager Alison Jago who has joined Cheapflights as head of sales for holiday product.

Cheapflights chief executive David Soskin said: “We’ve launched Cheapshortbreaks because of the boom in the short breaks market. We believe it will move to a position of dominance in its sector, directing large volumes of cost-effective leads to our customers across the industry.”

The new website will cover city, beach and cruise short breaks.
