Check-in or check-out?
A German traveller reportedly caused a carfuffle at Duesseldorf airport when he tried to check in a supermarket shopping trolley. According to the online news provider Ananova, the 42-year-old had put all of his luggage in the trolley for a flight to Spain, but check-in staff told him he could not take it on the plane. After what the website is calling a “heated discussion”, the man was persuaded that it would be better to put his luggage in some plastic carrier bags, after which he was allowed to board the flight. But it appears that this will not be the end of the story; after it was reported in Germany, the supermarket chain alerted police and the man is now facing legal proceedings when he returns. A police spokesman reportedly said: “We have had all the details passed on to us by airport officials, and we will be asking this gentleman to help us with our enquiries when he returns.”
