China Airlines launching flights to Cebu
China Airlines plans to start flying to its second Philippines destination from March next year.
Joining its existing two Manila routes is Cebu, which will operate six time a week from Taipei.
The Taipei-Cebu service will be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft every day except Tuesdays.
China Airlines currently flies 18 flights a week to Manila from Taipei and Kaohsiung.
The new Cebu flight schedule is now available online and reservations are live, with a special introductory promo fare of TWD5,060 plus taxes in economy.
The Cebu flights are still awaiting official regulatory approvals.
CAL has also been codesharing with Philippine Airlines since 2015 offering more connectivity across the archipelago.
The Cebu route takes the number of destinations served in Southeast Asia to 16.
The Taiwan government has been pushing to develop more routes as an alternative to mainland China which has seen a significant downturn.
