China Southern Canton Route takes off
China Southern Airlines has launched its new Canton Route, opening up a more direct path for Australians travelling to London via the airline’s hub of Guangzhou.
Australian and New Zealand services now connect with the inaugural London CZ303 service departing Guangzhou. There will be a three-hour stopover in Guangzhou.
China Southern regional general manager Australia/New Zealand Henry He said Australians would have the opportunity to break the long-haul flight to the UK and Europe in Guangzhou "and sample authentic Cantonese flavours, great shopping and the vibrant culture that thrives in this burgeoning Chinese city".
China Southern’s Canton Route to London offers fares from $1800 return in economy class and $5800 in business class.
The airline has direct flights from Guangzhou to Sydney (11 per week), Melbourne (10 per week), Brisbane (four per week), Perth (three times per week) and Auckland (daily).
