China Southern’s new NZ link
New Zealand tourism has been given a boost with news that China Southern Airlines will run three flights between Auckland and Guangzhou (via Melbourne) each week from next year.
The new service, due to launch April 30, will offer 88,000 more seats annually than are currently available.
Auckland Airport chief executive Simon Moutter said, “Better connections with Asia, and in particular China, is critical for New Zealand trade and tourism.”
Guangzhou – the capital of the Guangdong province – is home to close to 12 million people, making it China’s third most populated city.
