China theme park fire kills 13 people
An investigation is underway into a fire which ripped through part of an amusement park in China killing at least 13 people.
The Work Safety Committee of the State Council is conducting an investigation at Taitaishan theme park in Taiyuan, Shanxi province.
Reports from Xinhua News Agency say the blaze took hold inside an exhibition hall displaying snow sculptures.
At least 15 other people were treated at hospital.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
It took place as the park was packed for the start of the Golden Week holiday.
It is a large park featuring several museums, venues, rides and other attractions.
The park and scenic spot have been closed entirely while the investigation continues.
The State Council and the Ministry of Emergency Management held a meeting and called for all local authorities to check all tourist spots for potential fire hazards.
