China’s Wanda Hotels coming to the US
Chinese hospitality group Wanda Hotels & Resorts plans an international expansion of its upscale Wanda Vista brand.
Key global cities have been chosen including a first foray into the US market with planned openings in Chicago and Los Angeles.
The company gave no specific details on each hotel but said it would also develop new hotels in London, Madrid, Sydney, and the Australian Gold Coast.
All are expected to be sited centrally in each destination and feature cutting edge design, the company said.
"Wanda Hotels & Resorts is dedicated to its company mission to uphold Chinese values and we hope to stay true to this mission and bring Eastern hospitality to the world," said Mr. Qian Jin, newly appointed president of Wanda Hotels & Resorts.
"We aim to be the leading hotel choice at each destination, embracing Chinese tradition for both business and leisure guests domestically and internationally."
Wanda aims to own and operate more than 160 hotels worldwide within five years.
The Wanda Vista brand portfolio currently consists of 10 hotels open in China.
