Choice Hotels International has inked a global agreement with Ctrip the largest online travel agency in China.

The company aims to tap Ctrip’s huge customer base as China is set to become the biggest market for inbound travel to the US by 2019.

Choice has unveiled new ‘China ready’ enhancements at its Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites brands to cater to the growing Chinese market.

It is providing China centric amenities such as green tea, slippers, and will accept payments using China Union Pay.

"China is, and will continue to be, a major market for inbound tourism in the next few years, and Choice is dedicated to anticipating the needs of guests traveling from abroad by ensuring they have the amenities they desire and expect," said Robert McDowell, Chief Commercial Officer at Choice Hotels International.

"Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites are great hotels for Chinese travelers exploring the US. Furthermore, our global partnership with Ctrip will expand Choice Hotels reach into the growing Chinese tourism market."

The enhancements are part of a $40 million Comfort brand improvement program which included the recently introduced smoke-free policy and new, healthy breakfast options.
