CHTA launches online auction for Bahamas relief
Hotels from across the Caribbean region have come together in aid of the devastated communities in the Bahamas.
Hotels and resorts have joined with Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association to launch an online auction to raise funds for post-hurricane relief efforts.
Hoteliers have donated hotel vacations for the public to shop and bid on through the Charitybuzz online fundraising platform.
"We are thankful for the contributions of our hotel and resort partners to assist the people of The Bahamas during this very difficult period," said CHTA president Patricia Affonso-Dass.
Affonso-Dass is also urging travelers to return to the Bahamas which is mostly open for business except for the Abacos and Grand Bahama.
That was echoed by Frank Comito, CHTA’s Director General and CEO.
"The best way to help the Bahamas is to travel to the Bahamas," he said.
The ‘Caribbean Hotels Unite for The Bahamas’ initiative is a joint fundraising campaign between CHTA and the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association.
The public are urged to visit www.charitybuzz.com/CaribbeanHotelsForBahamas to shop and bid on vacations.
