CLIA transitions leadership, starts search for new CEO
Cruise Lines International Association has announced a leadership transition plan ahead of the imminent departure of president and CEO Christine Duffy who joins Carnival Cruise Line as president on February 1.
For an interim period, recently appointed CLIA chairman Adam Goldstein, the president and COO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., will lead the association.
Cindy D’Aoust, the current executive vice president of membership and operations will take charge of all US operations and oversee the management teams in the Washington, DC, and Fort Lauderdale offices.
CLIA said it has retained the services of executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles to head the search for Duffy’s successor.
"We are dedicated to identifying a leader who will continue to drive the vision of the organization. During this search and transition process, we are well-positioned to continue to support our membership and the many activities we have underway around the world with the leadership of our talented executive team," Goldstein said in a statement.
Alongside D’Aoust, the senior management team based in the Washington, DC office includes CFO Thomas Fischetti, Charles Darr, SVP, technical and regulatory affairs, Michael McGarry, SVP, public affairs; and SVP of strategic marketing and communications Lorri Christou.
