Club 18-30 shame after lewd beach show
Three reps have already left Corfu after public displays of vulgarity
Three Club 18-30 reps are believed to have fled the island of Corfu, and two more have resigned, after they were allegedly involved in a lewd stage show on one of the island’s crowded beaches.
According to reports in many of today’s newspapers, two female representatives performed sex acts on their male counterparts in front of hundreds of locals and travellers, while another female rep did the same to a holidaymaker plucked from the crowd. The goings-on were filmed by a local businessman, who gave his film to police in Corfu.
The reps could be charged with indecent exposure and public vulgarity, both of which carry a five-year jail sentence, if they are caught – but both male reps and one woman have now resigned, while the other two have been suspended by Club 18-30. The chief of police in Kavos, the resort where the incident took place, wants to extradite the three reps who have already flown back to the UK.
Frances Tuke, of ABTA, told the Daily Mail: “This sort of behaviour gives British holidaymakers a bad name. Everyone who goes on holiday wants to have a good time but there is a line that should not and cannot be crossed.”
A spokesman for Club 18-30 confirmed that the company is investigating: “There is a very fine line between high spirits and unacceptable behaviour and we will not hesitate to take whatever action is deemed appropriate against any member of staff who is proven to have crossed that line.”
