Coming attraction: six-star hotels
Not only are five-star hotels coming back, there’s a new six-star service that is increasingly popular.
Visitors with “bullet-proof bank accounts” are demanding super-posh amenities such as butlers, chefs and attendants raking the sand at private beaches, says The Wall Street Journal.
The Journal cited the Setai Hotel in Miami as an example of new six-star hotels.
Chains such as Ritz-Carlton have announced their intent of building super-luxury new hotels this year.
Overall, hotel rates across the board continue to rise, according to various studies.
Los Angeles, for example, saw a 37% increase in just one year, 2004.
