Comtec enhances Travelink capability
The Comtec-owned Travelink tour-operating sales and management system is being enhanced for use by large tour operators.
The system, acquired in May, is used by 70 mainly specialist, mid-range UK operators.
But leisure travel systems specialist Comtec claims the system has now been independently certified as suitable for operators carrying up to 750,000 passengers a year. The company plans to enhance this to those handling 1.5 million by next February.
The system enables operators to manage tailormade holidays, dynamic packages, tours and fixed packages.
Comtec product director Ed Whiting said: “A key reason for acquiring Travelink was that we felt that there are excellent opportunities to extend its customer base amongst larger tour operators and existing customers with growth plans.
“We believe Travelink’s range of services, from dynamic packaging tools to advanced e-commerce, is second-to-none in the marketplace and now, with its proven scalability, offers larger operators an attractive new option when upgrading their sales and management systems.”
Whiting added: “Comtec’s know-how gained from implementing large-scale technology implementations with major UK travel agency groups will, we believe, be the catalyst for the evolution of Travelink as the most flexible system available.
“This is a natural development for Comtec Travelink but, of course, we will ensure we maintain our focus on meeting the needs of our long-standing and highly-valued independent operator customer base”.
