Countdown to Canada Day celebrations in London
Today (Monday) is the deadline for applying for tickets for a free Canada Day concert in London.
As part of the Canada Day London 2008 celebrations, Alberta is hosting one of the biggest ever parties in Trafalgar Square.
Canada Rocks Trafalgar Square is a free live concert of Canadian artists on the night of June 30.
In addition, on July 1 there are events throughout the day and more music in the evening.
The free concert features acclaimed singer songwriter Kathleen Edwards as headliner alongside Canada’s chart topping hard rock band, The Trews, award winning Nuevo Flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook, and The McDades.

The free entry, ticketed concert is being staged by the Canadian province of Alberta and UK tour operator Canadian Affair.
On the following evening, Canada Day hosts a second concert in the Square, once again showcasing talent from Canada’s world-famous music scene.
This time taking to the stage will be jazz pianist sensation Michael Kasehammer, folk songwriter John Wort Hannam, folk roots Americana musician Kim Beggs, country band Twilight Hotel and a second performance from Jesse Cook.
Trafalgar Square will be open for business from 11.00 when free daytime activities begin with preliminary rounds of Canada’s street hockey. Celebrating all that is great about Canada, audiences will also be able to sample the best of this exciting country’s culture, technology, tourism and culinary delights.
