Countdown to San Francisco restaurant fest begins
The countdown begins for the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (SFCVB) popular “Dine About Town San Francisco” program Jan. 15-31 and June 1-15, 2008.
To experience each of San Francisco’s 5000 plus restaurants, one would have to dine in a different restaurant every day for 14 consecutive years, and still miss a few on the ever-growing list. The Dine About Town 2008 promotion narrows this list to a select 100, which provides food and wine enthusiasts with a more manageable “menu” for lunch and dinner options.
The two-week January promotion will provide diners an opportunity to get a head start on the list, which they may complete in June for the Summer Dine About Town promotion.
The complete restaurant list for Dine About Town 2008 will be unveiled on the official “Dine About Town San Francisco” website www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com December 14.
The site will list each participating restaurant, searchable by cuisine and location and reservations may be made online through a partnership with OpenTable.com. Each three-course prix-fixe lunch is $21.95 while dinner is $31.95, exclusive of tax and gratuity. A la carte menus will also be available.
For the first time, videos of participating restaurants will be available online through a partnership with TasteTV. The “Dine About Town San Francisco” site will also include a link to a collection of hotel packages, to turn a dining experience into a full-fledged getaway.
