Crerar Hotels buys Elgin property
The Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club in Elgin, Morayshire has been acquired by Crerar Hotels for an undisclosed sum.
The 53-room hotel has meeting and event facilities for up to 250 people, a restaurant and café bar plus a leisure club. A further 25 rooms will be added.
The property will increase the number of Crerar Hotels to eight, principally in Scotland plus one in North Yorkshire.
Combined with Crerar Management, which operates a further 26 hotels on behalf of investment companies, the group operates 34 hotels, with more than 2,650 rooms and 2,100 staff.
The total value of hotels being managed by Crerar is now more than £200 million.
Chief executive Paddy Crerar said: “We plan to build on this quality offering by adding a further 25 bedrooms and enhancing the excellent leisure club.
“This is good news for the local economy as well; once we have carried out this work, it will mean at least a further 12 jobs at Eight Acres.”
