Crew members hospitalized after severe turbulence
Several flight crew members and a passenger were injured during a ‘severe’ turbulence incident aboard an Alaska Airlines flight.
Alaska Airlines Flight 700 which departed Seattle to Phoenix suffered heavy turbulence.
The cockpit reported a medical emergency, and medical teams were on standby when the flight landed in Phoenix, the FAA said.
Alaska Airlines confirmed ‘several’ crew members were taken to hospital, but hasn’t said exactly how many or the extent of the injuries.
One passenger was injured but didn’t require hospital treatment.
“We are appreciative of our dedicated crew for their skill and professionalism in responding to this situation, and are supporting them as they seek additional medical attention,” Alaska Airlines said in a statement.
“We apologize for any concern this experience may have caused our guests.”
