Cruise company extends commission offer
Cruise & Maritime Voyages claims it took twice as many bookings this month compared with September 2010 following its decision to increase agents' commission.
The company was offering to pay agents up to 16% commission – 1% more than normal – to coincide with National Cruise Week.
Commercial director Chris Coates said: “We are delighted with the increase in trade sales and the positive support we are receiving from travel agents.”
As a result, the privately-owned cruiseline has extended its extra commission until October 31, while at the same time knocking up to 25% off its full fares for all online bookings for departures from December to October 2012.
