SYDNEY – The International Cruise Council Australasia has unveiled the details of its 2009 industry awards to be held in Sydney next year.

A highlight of the cruise industry calendar, the gala event will be held at Dockside Darling Harbour on Saturday, January 23, 2010.

Council general manager Brett Jardine said the Council had to seek a larger venue for the 2009 awards night after tickets for the 2008 event sold out in record time.

Cruise Passenger Magazine will return as Gold Sponsor for the 2009 awards, having taken the top billing for the past three years.

Silver Sponsors on the night will include previous sponsors Emirates, Royal Caribbean International and Travel the World as well as new sponsor, river cruise line Avalon Waterways.

“With a record wave season on the horizon and increased agent interest in Council training, we look forward to celebrating the cream of the cruise industry on the night,” Jardine said.

Tickets for the awards event will go on sale in early October at www.cruising.org.au.
