Cruise Council appoints new General Manager
The International Cruise Council Australasia today announced it had appointed Brett Jardine as its new General Manager, following the resignation of Linda Halliday, with ICCA Chairman John Molinaro saying Mr Jardine would join the Council on October 15.
Presently National Sales Manager at Scenic Tours, Mr Jardine has 17 years’ experience in the travel industry.
“Brett comes to us with a solid understanding of the cruise industry, having promoted cruise product extensively during his time working with tour operators, and has experienced firsthand a wide range of cruise lines and cruise destinations,” said Mr Molinaro.
“He has also worked very closely with the retail agent sector for many years so has a strong appreciation of travel agents’ needs.”
Mr Molinaro said Ms Halliday had resigned as she was keen to return to the private sector.
“Whilst we are sorry to lose Linda we understand her decision.” “We thank her for all her hard work and wish her all the best.”
Mr Molinaro said Ms Halliday would leave the Council in late October after a handover period with Mr Jardine.
Commenting on his new position, Mr Jardine said he was looking forward to working closely with the cruise industry and travel agents.
“Cruising is one of the most dynamic sectors of the travel industry so I’m really looking forward to helping the Council’s member cruise lines build their business and forge even closer ties with agents in Australia and New Zealand.”
