Cruise in your dancing shoes
If you like to dance, summer cruising is for you.
Dancing is hot on the high seas, as Holland America runs a Dancing with the Stars competition and Norwegian teams with the Rockettes.
Norwegian Cruise Lines yesterday announced details of a partnership between the Rockettes and the Norwegian Breakaway.
The iconic New York dance troupe will christen the Breakaway on May 8 and maintain a strong presence on all Norwegian Breakaway sailings.
Two Rockettes will sail on each of the first six sailings, beginning May 12, and then on the first sailing of each month.
While on board, the Rockettes will offer meet & greet sessions and take pictures, host "Speaker Series" events, lead morning fitness sessions, and teach three dance classes.
Special Rockettes-inspired classes, hosted by Norwegian Breakaway’s fitness team, will be held on all Norwegian Breakaway sailings.
While visiting New York City, guests can sign up for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at Radio City Music Hall, home to the Rockettes,
Holland America, meanwhile, is running a Dancing with the Stars competition on cruises through November. Guests can learn routines from the hit show during free onboard dance classes and then perform before a panel of judges.
Six winners will be invited back on a seven-day Champions Cruise for two in an ocean-view stateroom on the Nieuw Amsterdam departing January 12, 2014, from Fort Lauderdale.
