Cruise line announces new Alaska routes
Cruise West, which promises to get close enough on the Inside Passage to “see the barnacles on a whale’s tail and feel the chill of the glaciers,” is offering four new itineraries to Alaska.
All sail through the 3.3 million-acre Glacier Bay National Park.
Cruise West last year was awarded a permit from the National Park Service allowing the most entries into the park of any line for the next decade.
While in Glacier Bay, American West passengers are joined by a ranger and cultural interpreters.
The cruise line has an unusual Whale Sighting guarantee: should whales not be seen, the line promises to refund $250 to each guest.
Among cruise offerings are four-and-five day voyages from Juneau, starting at $1,148 per person.
