Cruise ship returns to Miami after ‘altercation’
A Royal Caribbean cruise ship arrived back in PortMiami not long after its scheduled departure due to an onboard ‘altercation’ between two guests.
The two were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital on arrival back in South Florida.
An incident took place early into the short cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas ship.
Police and medical personnel were at the terminal waiting for the two guests to be disembarked.
“Our team provided medical care to adult guests who were involved in an altercation onboard, and the guests are being treated for their injuries.,” the cruise line said.
“We notified local authorities and are working closely with them. As this is an ongoing investigation, we have no more information to share at this time.”
Mystery still surrounds what led up to the altercation and the extent of injuries.
There have been contrasting online comments posted from other guests about the incident.
The ship is currently on a four-day Bahamas sailing.
