Crystal adds ‘active’ excursions

Crystal cruises added 18 new shore excursions to its fall lineup of New England and Canada cruises.

Many of the new additions have an active element, ranging from kayaking to biking on its five New England and Canada cruises planned this fall.

The cruise line offers seven-and 11-day cruises to various areas including New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Newport, Rhode Island; Sydney and Halifax, Nova Scotia; Quebec City and Montreal, Canada; and Charleston, South Carolina.

The new tours also feature many hiking excursions, including a one-mile journey along the famous Cliff Walk of Newport to see elaborate estates, and hikes through the various Canadian historical areas.

“Organized tours in port with a guide can be more than sitting on a bus  —  an active excursion allows for more intimate involvement with the particular cultures and scenery of each destination,” said John Stoll, director of land programs, Crystal.
