Crystal launching Bahamas cruises in July
Crystal Cruises plans to restart cruising in the Bahamas this summer.
It will offer a total of 16 week long round trip cruises out of Nassau on Crystal Serenity from 3 July 2021.
It is one of the first opportunities for Americans to go cruising again without a long haul flight.
"Like our guests, we have been eagerly looking forward to the day we can welcome them back on board, and we’re thrilled that this day will come in The Bahamas," said Jack Anderson, Crystal’s interim president.
"The new Bahamas Escapes cruises will allow travelers to enjoy luxury cruising now, as well as bring much-needed benefits to the local workforce, airlines, restaurants, retailers, and hotels for pre- and post-cruise stays."
Crystal said there will be limited capacity of 900 on each cruise and crucially, all guests must be vaccinated at least 14 days before departure.
Sailings will include calls at Harbour Island, Great Exuma, San Salvador Island, and Long Island but these are still subject to final confirmation and could be revised.
Expecting a predominantly American market for these cruises, Crystal is offering pre- and post- land stays in Nassau and Bimini inclusive of transfers, taxes, and resort fees.
Bookings will open on 18 March.
