Crystal makes exchange rate pledge to secure early bookings
Crystal Cruises is hoping to encourage early bookings in the UK by keeping its prices based on more preferable exchange rates.
Currently its brochure prices are based on the exchange rate of £1 to $1.90, but this has fallen considerably and now stands at $1.46.
However, in order to boost its bookings, it is allowing the following:
– UK customers who have already booked their 2009 cruise but are still to pay in full will be protected against currency fluctuations and will pay the current published brochure price as long as they pay by February 27
– The brochure price is guaranteed on all new bookings made and paid in full before February 27
– UK customers booking any 2009 Europe, transatlantic or Crystal Symphony Asia cruise before February 27 will also save 20% on any 2010 voyage, excluding the World Cruise and its segments.
Due to a drop in oil prices, Crystal Cruises has also scrapped its fuel surcharge for 2009 cruises.
New bookings will not be charged a fuel surcharge, while for bookings under deposit, Crystal will adjust each booking, eliminating the fuel surcharge.
Passengers who have paid in full will receive a shipboard credit in the amount of the assessed fuel surcharge.
