Cuba flight bookings now on Travelport
US travel agents on Travelport GDS can now book flights to Cuba for authorized travelers.
The move comes on the back of the Obama Administration’s relaxing of travel restrictions to Cuba.
"U.S. travelers now have new opportunities for air travel to Cuba. We’re excited to be leading the way in making air travel to Cuba more accessible to travel agencies and authorized travelers through Travelport’s travel commerce platform," said Scott Hyden, Travelport’s Americas group vice president and general manager.
Each agent is required to sign a contract amendment with Travelport before selling flights to Cuba for US citizens.
Current rules allow US residents to travel to Cuba for pre-defined reasons such as educational or religious activities and family visits.
