An AeroCaribbean plane has crashed in Cuba carrying 68 passengers and seven crew. It is thought there are no survivors.
The Cuban twin prop was flying from Santiago de Cuba to Havana when it crashed near the village of Guasimal in Santi Spiritus province.
Local news reports say 28 of the passengers were foreign, from Argentina, Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Venezuela and Japan.
Rescue workers are now retrieving bodies from the scene of the crash. No details have been released yet as to the probable cause of the accident.
The plane, owned by state carrier Cubana de Aviacion, was one of the last scheduled flights to take off ahead of tropical storm Tomas which is expected to hit the eastern point of Cuba today.
