Culinary Institute offers feast-type getaways
One of the US’s most famous cooking schools is now offering high-end trips where travelers can sample regional cuisine in the company of experts.
The Culinary Institute of America’s new culinary getaway program, “The Sophisticated Palate,” was launched this summer. It combines travel, wine and food. Trips cost about $4,000 for four days, plus accommodations, reports the AP.
The trips concentrate on different cuisines, but they all take place around California’s Napa Valley region, based at the Culinary Institute’s Greystone campus, in the town of St. Helena, which is located north of the city of Napa.
The five different courses vary in cuisines and itineraries.
One itinerary, called “A Taste of Northern California,” depending on the season, might visit a wine cave with local vintners, and tasting fresh-picked veggies from a farm.
