CV Travel’s new Caribbean collection
Just two years after launching its first Caribbean programme, the new CV Travel 2009 Caribbean brochure now runs to 150 pages featuring superlative hotels, private and staffed villas and resorts, on 11 Caribbean islands and private island resorts.
Philip Leighton, CV Travel’s Caribbean Product Head, said “The most exciting new additions for 2009 are the tiny and exclusive Leeward island of St. Barths and new private villas and island resorts in the British Virgin Islands. We have also greatly enhanced our already extensive range of villas and houses in Jamaica, which we now believe to be the best selection of Jamaican properties to be found anywhere”.
On St. Barths, CV Travel includes the most stylish and chic spot on the entire island, the landmark Eden Rock, one of the world’s leading boutique hotels with a private beach, individually designed suites and gastronomic restaurants.
Another sought-after Relais and Châteaux member, Hôtel Le Toiny is CV Travel’s second exclusive retreat on St. Barths, a collection of fifteen individual, French colonial style villa suites, each with their own private pool and a concierge to organise in-room massage, manicure or pedicure, gastronomic dining and options for boat charter.
Another individual property is Kú, an all-suite hotel on one of the Caribbean’s best beaches, the 2 mile stretch of powdery white sand at Shoal Bay, Anguilla, which also claims the longest bar in Anguilla, just over 75 feet long.
Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands is one of the world’s most exclusive holiday islands and Falcon’s Nest, one of the world’s top rental villas. Built 350 feet above the Caribbean on a hilltop bluff this six suite villa, run by a fleet of four discreet staff, features laser lit showers, the most incredible zero-entry two-tiered pool area and a main pool that mirrors the sky and visually disappears into the sea.
Accessible only by boat or helicopter is the ultimate hideaway of Biras Creek on the BVI Virgin Gorda, with 31 suites and enclosed on three sides by water. Guana Island provides another private island hideaway and possibly the only wildlife sanctuary in the world with a cocktail hour and an honesty bar. The entire island is available to rent through CV Travel for up to 32 people.
Petit St. Vincent, or PSV to those in the know, is a 113 private island retreat, reachable only by boat, formed of a sparkling white band of powdery sand which creates an unbroken band of beach around the island, fringed with translucent blue waters. Accommodation is in cottages with wooden sun decks, dotted around the island, with no phones or televisions, just a flag pole and yellow flag to summon the buggy-service staff. Or hoist the red flag for total undisturbed peace.
In Jamaica, CV Travel is now featuring the island’s top houses and resorts, including Frankort on the Beach, one of the island’s most historic and renowned properties whose guests have included Winston Churchill, Queen Mary, Prince Edward, Dr. Henry Kissinger and Sir Noel Coward. Originally a 17th century hill fort, this stunningly restored contemporary house is in an unrivalled beachfront location and accommodates 8 guests. The property has an 80 foot veranda, an 8 person Jacuzzi and staff that include a butler, cook, housekeeper, laundress and gardener.
This is just a tiny snapshot of some of the exquisite properties featured in the new CV Travel Caribbean portfolio that includes private villas, hotels and villa resorts on Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, Tobago, Grenada, the Grenadines and Mustique, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, Nevis, Anguilla and St.Barths.
In addition to its extensive and high quality Caribbean portfolio, CV Travel specialises in staffed houses, hotels and resorts with a `wow’ factor in Europe, North Africa, Arabia, South Africa, with a selection of hand-picked villas in Brazil, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand, and ski holidays through its sister company Ski Verbier.
