Cvent lists top 50 meetings destinations

Wednesday, 27 Aug, 2013 0

When it comes to picking a meetings destination, plenty of space and a good airport are the key requirements.

But perhaps the biggest surprise in this year’s Cvent survey of top meeting destinations is the switch from some traditional destinations in Florida and Vegas to new small cities like National Harbor, MD; Tucson, AZ; Coronado, CA and Salt Lake City, UT.

Noteworthy also is the fact that despite its pricey accommodations – indeed, its pricey everything –  and with the help of a number of new hotels that opened in the past few months, New York has grown its meeting business and moved up to the Top 10.

New York, in sixth place, followed Orlando, Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta and San Diego. Washington, Dallas, Miami and Phoenix rounded out the Top 10.

The top 10 cities are:

  • 1. Orlando, FL
  • 2. Chicago, IL
  • 3. Las Vegas, NV
  • 4. Atlanta, GA
  • 5. San Diego, CA
  • 6. New York, NY
  • 7. Washington, D.C.
  • 8. Dallas, TX
  • 9. Miami, FL
  • 10. Phoenix, AZ
