Cyclists and surfers pay more than skiers and golfers on Ryanair
Ryanair has changed its carriage fees for sports equipment, reducing its charges for small items but increasing the amount it charges to carry bikes and other large items.
Instead of charging a flat rate of £50 each way for any item, the airline has introduced different prices depending on their size.
It will charge £60 each way for bikes and large items such as canoes and surfboards, that’s an increase of £10 each way, but it will cut the price to £40 for skis and £30 for golf bags and small items such as fishing rods and tennis racquets.
The airline said the move was part of its ‘Always Getting Better’ programme. Golfers and skiers will be pleased, but for cyclists and surfers the deal is worse, not better.
