Daughter of expedition company MD dies after being found in river
The young daughter of a couple who ran an outdoor pursuits and expedition company in Wales has died after being pulled from a car found in a river.
Kiara Moore, who would have celebrated her third birthday next Tuesday, was found in the River Teifi in Cardigan on Monday.
Her father, Jet Moore, was managing director of Adventure Beyond, based in Cardigan.
Police said the car had been parked on a slipway close to the office. The driver had apparently left the little girl inside while they went into the office to get some cash, but by the time they came out, the car had disappeared.
Fearing a kidnap, they launched a search for the car and the little girl, but the vehicle was eventually found in the river a couple of hours later.
Kiara was taken to hospital where she died later.
Her father posted several notices on his Facebook page in which he thanked the emergency services.
Adventure Beyond organises outdoor pursuits in Cardigan, including expeditions such as the Duke of Edinburgh and educational trips.
