MSC Cruises offers one dollar fares
MSC is offering a Mediterranean cruise for early next month (September) when a partner will cruise for only $1 plus port charges of $175.
The September 2 seven-night cruise from Genoa aboard MSC Fantasia, has a starter price of $1225 for an inside cabin, $1385 for ocean view cabin and $1665 for balcony cabin.
The seven-night round trip visits Naples, Palermo, Tunisia, Barcelona and Marseille before returning to Genoa.
This Cruise of the Week offer is valid to book online, through a travel agent or by phoning 1300 028 502, but it will only be available from 3pm on Tuesday, August 7, until 10am on Thursday, August 9, 2012.
Agents only: South America lodges
South American eco-adventure operator explora is currently running a special travel trade promotion, "Live it to Tell it", based on the theory that the best way to sell explora lodges to clients is through personal experience.
During August, September and October, explora is offering heavily discounted rates on its three explora lodges, Hotel Salto Chico in Patagonia Chile, Hotel de Larache in the Atacama Desert and Posada de Mike Rapu in Easter Island.
explora is offering industry rates of US$190 per night per agent and US$240 per night per companion sharing the same room, with a minimum four-night stay. This is a discount of approximately 70% off the regular room rate for guests.
Agents and travel industry personnel will be able to travel to the lodges up until October 31, 2012.
Rates include transfers from local airports to the lodge, three meals a day with open bar and daily explorations with guides and equipment, including horses, vehicles and boats.

Phi Phi Village Resort on special
The Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort and Spa (which will be rebranded as an Outrigger in November) is offering a special rate of THB3,167+++ (US$102+++) for a Superior Bungalow in September or October.
The rate includes breakfast for two and a 10% discount on spa treatments. For an extra person, add THB1,500+++ (US$48.4+++) per person.
Transfers to Phi Phi Island are from Phuket or Krabi. Boat transfers are charged extra depending on routing and timing.
