Delta adds more Sea-Tac flights
Delta Airlines is once again upping the stakes in its ‘battle for Seattle’ with rival Alaska Airlines, announcing new flights to Boston, Pasco, Washington and Victoria, British Columbia.
On each of these routes Delta will be in direct competition for flyers with Alaska.
Pasco service will operate three times a day from November 1, 2015, while a daily roundtrip to Boston and three times a day service to Victoria begin on April 4, 2016.
Delta also recently announced the start of Seattle-Orlando service beginning December 19, 2015.
"Through our growth, our team of nearly 3,000 Seattle-area employees is working diligently to support the needs of our Seattle customers and the hundreds of thousands of other customers we connect through Sea-Tac each year," said Mike Medeiros, Delta’s Seattle vice president.
The turf war between the two carriers has resulted in the fourth consecutive year of record traffic for Sea-Tac airport, which could reach 42 million passengers this year.
Delta has plans to grow its daily departures at Seattle to 125, feeding into its growing international network at the airport, which includes Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing and Shanghai.
